Passionately laid back...

was unanticipated and quite remarkable. I was there by chance. Candi had been caught up in world events and was delayed in Portugal, Guy needed a dance dolly, and so it seemed, I fitted the bill.

Coming to a club on its opening night as the female teacher was a complete gift. No time to think, just turn up and work with one of the most gifted teachers in the area.

How could I say no?

Donning stage clothes and make up I arrived at the appointed hour and had a ball...

  1. As a confirmed Stokies fan I was really looking forward to this new venture into the world of Argentinian Tango. Having done numerous intro classes into various forms of Tango at weekenders I am determined to persevere this time and fulfill my dream of becoming a smelly Gaucho !!Arriving late , a trait one is accustomed to at Stokies Blues classes ( laid back !! )I was greeted with the sight of Guy getting the ladies to lead the chaps by the hand with their eyes closed( the guys that is). This was followed by some really interesting moves designed to teach us the basic art of lead and follow in Tango. The lesson lasted 90 mins at the end of which were some very happy folk making quite a good fist of dancing to pure Argentinian tango music. But where was Candi ? In her place was a very accomplished Tango dancer Diana, had never met her before but what a pleasure !!
Conclusion----a really fabulous night, lessons start in earnest next Tuesday, looking forward to booking a flight to Argentina later this year to teach those Argies another lesson !!!
